Whispers of the past
Haunted History & Ghost Stories (240 Years and Counting)
Built in the 1780s and once known as the grandest home on the block, this ten-room Colonial holds more than architectural history. Over the centuries, it has witnessed war, wealth, and whispered scandals.
Home to doctors, manufacturers, and the town’s most influential families, it now opens its doors to a new kind of guest - those curious enough to sleep where spirits do not rest easy.
Guests frequently report cold spots, pacing footsteps, the sense of being watched, shadow figures gliding past open doorways, and artwork inexplicably hurled from the walls.
More than one guest has tripped on the stairs after feeling a distinct but unseen push.
These aren’t tales spun merely for effect. They’re warnings from those who lasted the night.
The Toy Museum
Long before the whispers began at the Isaac Morse House, Winchendon thrived as "Toy Town," home to the world’s largest wooden toy factory. Driven by rushing waters and abundant forests, craftsmen created countless wooden toys - objects of innocence that today linger eerily silent.
Step carefully into our Vintage Toy Museum, where shadows gather among shelves lined with faded dolls, wooden soldiers frozen mid-march, and miniature rocking horses that sway softly on windless nights. Here, nostalgia takes a haunting turn, as these relics of childhood seem to watch visitors, their painted eyes glistening with secrets from a time when Winchendon’s factories hummed with life, and perhaps something more.
Dare you linger among the toys that once brought joy but now, in the stillness, evoke an unshakable feeling that you may not be alone?

A lingering presence…
No one knows her name. But when she screams, you’ll know she’s there.
Paranormal investigators have recorded what others only whisper about… mysterious knocks in the dead of night and piercing screams from an unseen woman whose name has long been lost to history. Some nights she is silent, her presence only a heavy chill lingering in the air. But on other nights, her mournful cries startle even seasoned paranormal teams and rob guests of sleep, rattling the windows without explanation.
Who she is, or what tragedy binds her to this place, remains unknown. Some believe she is trapped by unfinished business. Others suspect she isn't alone.
The Isaac Morse House is more than a short-term rental. It's a place where history walks with you. And sometimes, watches you.
A room with a secret
In the 1990s, a tragedy unfolded within these walls. A young man was lost to despair in one of the upstairs bedrooms. On certain nights, the weight of his sorrow lingers still.
Guests sleeping in that room have reported vivid dreams, sudden chills, and a presence that seems to sit just at the edge of the bed.
We tell you not to scare you. Only to prepare you.

What our guests say…
“I keep coming back to the Isaac Morse House because it combines real comfort with unforgettable evidence. On one of our overnights, we ran an EVP session in the Rocking Horse Room. We set the recorder on one of the vintage rocking horses, asked a question, and seconds later captured a clear and intelligent response. Moments like that make this house a must-visit for investigators.”

What our guests say…
“We run EVP burst sessions everywhere we investigate, and the Isaac Morse House was no exception. During a session in one of the first-floor museum rooms, we were floored when a loud, aggressive reply came through several times. Easily one of the clearest captures I’ve ever heard.”
